UHS Mission
Our mission
Why the Ukrainian Heritage School exists, and the community we strive to be.
Our Mission
Preserving our heritage
The main objective of the Ukrainian Heritage School is the education of its students in Ukrainian language and culture in order that they may retain their Ukrainian heritage. The school instills in its students a strong sense of their identity as Americans of Ukrainian descent, and an understanding of their responsibility to carry forward Ukrainian tradition.

Since 1991
Even more relevant today
This mission has become even more relevant since Ukraine’s independence in 1991. In recent years, the school has welcomed an influx of new students from Ukraine who want to retain their cultural heritage as they settle into American life. Students who are second- or third-generation Ukrainian Americans now have more opportunities to use what they learn at the Ukrainian Heritage School on visits to Ukraine, and in colleges and universities as they pursue higher education.
Non-discrimination
A school open to everyone
The Ukrainian Heritage School (UHS) is committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all individuals. We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected under federal, state, or local laws.
UHS is dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of our programs, services, and employment practices. Discrimination, harassment, or exclusion of any kind has no place in our community. We strive to create a supportive and respectful space where everyone can engage in cultural, educational, and social activities without barriers.
